MAJOR WORKSHOPS

• World Beat Brazilian Music Workshops by arrangement
• Jazz Workshops featuring Combo Playing & Improv on all instruments, for high school and college students

Goal: To be able to perform out of the standard repertoire
Format: 8 weekly sessions of 2 hours each, including playing out of the Real Book as well as jazz theory and application
Times/Starting dates: Flexible, based on student availability
Location: Convenient locations throughout Metro Detroit
Fees: $20 per student per session [Discount available to existing groups that register as a unit]

ABOUT RICH'S JAZZ/WORKSHOP BACKGROUND

• Performer with Wynton Marsalis, Martha Reeves, Larry Nozero, Marcus Belgrave, Charlie Gabriel, Jon Faddis, many others
• Leader of jazz trio Kid Brother, Brazil and Beyond, appearing at Ford Detroit International JazzFest, Michigan Jazz Festival, Marshall Field’s Day of Music
• Leader and performer: Mitch Albom Show (WJR), Martin Bandyke Show (WDET-FM), Backstage Pass (WTVS-TV), WEMU-FM
• 20+ years of one-on-one, workshop and ensemble teaching experience
• Member: International Association of Jazz Educators (IAJE); Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association (MSBOA)
• Adjunct faculty: Oakland University, Henry Ford Community College, Macomb Community College, Schoolcraft College
